Vice President of Development

Partner with the President/CEO and Board leadership to execute and expand a multi year capital fundraising campaign. Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, foundations, and institutional partners. Manage a portfolio of high capacity donors and prospects with tailored engagement strategies. Provide strategic input on organizational planning, positioning, and long term development priorities. Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all fundraising programs, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, sponsorships, and special events. Identify and address organizational development needs that support overall health and effectiveness. Ensure all fundraising activities align with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals. Monitor internal and external trends affecting philanthropy and recommend short? and long range development strategies. Collaborate with the Board and Development Committee to strengthen fundraising outcomes and leverage networks. Lead strategic initiatives in partnership with the President/CEO. Manage and mentor development staff and contractors to achieve strategic and operational goals. Oversee donor communications, case statements, proposals, and impact reporting. Build and lead a high performing development team with clear expectations and accountability. Track and analyze fundraising metrics to inform forecasting and decision making. Maintain a deep understanding of the organization’s programs and community impact to effectively engage supporters. Oversee marketing, communications, and social media strategies and vendor relationships. Represent the organization at donor, community, and stakeholder events. Knowledge & Skills Proven track record securing six? and seven figure gifts; experience leading major capital or comprehensive campaigns. Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor cultivation, and philanthropic trends. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management abilities. Demonstrated leadership experience, including team recruitment, management, and development. Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and community based development. Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast paced, mission driven environment. Proficiency with donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Network for Good, Raiser's Edge) and data driven fundraising analytics. Familiarity with the regional philanthropic landscape is a plus. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum seven years of fundraising experience, including leadership of a successful capital campaign. CFRE certification and experience in arts, education, or community development organizations are strong advantages. Proficiency with CRM platforms, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong relationship building skills and passion for community impact and equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
