Cardiovascular ICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health and a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, is seeking a Cardiovascular ICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will coordinate and deliver high-acuity nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular patients, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient-centered service. Working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, bedside nurses, and interdisciplinary team members, you will oversee daily clinical operations in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, including patient flow, assignment of staff, adherence to evidence-based protocols, and rapid response to changes in patient condition. You will serve as a clinical resource and role model, providing expert guidance in hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive medication management, post–cardiac surgery care, mechanical circulatory support, ventilator management, and complex cardiac arrhythmia recognition and intervention. The Cardiovascular ICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator supports orientation, mentoring, and ongoing competency development of unit staff, assists with performance feedback, and collaborates with leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives, patient safety projects, and regulatory readiness activities. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture.
