Registered Nurse - PACT Outpatient

Job TitleThe duties of this position include but are not limited to:Provide competent, evidence-based outpatient nursing care to assigned patients.Oversee and collaborate with licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate to the outpatient setting.Coordinate care focused on patient transitions, including continuity of care across the patient care continuum.Deliver and support patient and family education, promoting self-management following discharge.Support customer satisfaction by addressing factors that influence the Veteran's experience.Assist in directing nursing education, orientation, competencies, and contribute to quality improvement and outcomes utilization.Direct other healthcare providers within scope, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.Partner with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote safe care transitions across the health care continuum.Apply fundamental outpatient nursing experience, demonstrating theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and technical competency.Perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with PACT outpatient RN responsibilities.Support all three VA-NYHCS campuses, with rotation as needed.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: 8am-4:30pTelework: Not availableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized
