Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nursing and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care for diverse medical conditions, including but not limited to colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT surgeries, and cancer-related diagnoses.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement individualized care plans and provide educational resources to patients and families.
• Utilize a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model, working alongside virtual nurses and nursing assistants to enhance patient care and communication.
• Monitor patient progress and respond effectively to changes in patient conditions.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska, or have a pending application with the ability to complete the licensure process within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a medical surgical/telemetry setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Ability to float to like units as necessary to meet facility needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and support patients and families.

Schedule and Commitment

• Assignment length options of 13 or 26 weeks are available, with night shift rotations.
• Shifts consist of 3x12 or 4x12 hours, depending on traveler preference.
• Weekend coverage may be required based on staffing needs.
• Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2-week period, with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift within that timeframe.
• Requests for time off (RTO) will be considered individually upon offer.

Unit Information

The unit employs a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model, facilitating a collaborative environment where bedside RNs, virtual RNs, and CNAs work as a cohesive team to deliver exceptional patient care.

• Utilizes Epic for charting and offers free parking for staff.
