Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.Morgan Stanley FID Secured Lending (“FSL”) is seeking an Executive Director to lead its Residential Mortgage and Consumer Portfolio Management team based in New York.FSL sits within Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division and provides financing facilities to asset originators, aggregators and financial sponsors. FSL currently manages a portfolio backed by a diverse range of assets including residential and commercial mortgages, consumer loans, private credit / corporate loans, fund capital commitments, and infrastructure loans across the US, Europe, and APAC regions. The FSL Portfolio Management team is responsible for the active risk management of the business, spanning transaction evaluation, portfolio construction, and ongoing portfolio strategy. The team plays a critical role in informing senior management’s risk‑taking decisions, guiding business expansion, and managing the portfolio through periods of market volatility. The team engages extensively with senior leadership and key stakeholders, including Credit Risk, regulators, borrowers, and co‑lenders.The Residential Mortgage and Consumer Portfolio Management Head will be responsible for a large portfolio of facilities backed by agency and non-QM mortgages, bridge, NPL/RPL, single family rental properties, unsecured consumer, auto, student loan and other consumer loans.This is a senior, fast‑paced leadership role with direct responsibility for shaping portfolio risk strategy across a large, complex platform and requires strong judgment, proven leadership, and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.Responsibilities include:Assessing and managing risk across the Residential and Consumer platformEvaluating new transactions and facility amendments and assessing asset quality, structure, documentation and counterparty riskDriving development of risk analytics, stress testing and reporting frameworks to enhance decision-makingInforming business strategy and capital allocation decisions through market intelligence, asset‑level research, and forward‑looking risk analysisRepresenting the platform in interactions with regulators, borrowers, co‑lenders, and internal governance forumsPerforming periodic business reviews and providing reporting to FSL senior leadership as well as business partners in Credit Risk and Capital MarketsEnhancing automation and scalability of portfolio monitoring processesLeading a global team of asset managers. Responsible for training, direction and performance managementFostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaborationCandidate skills and qualifications:Extensive expertise in residential mortgage risk management across product types (agency, jumbo, non-QM, NPL/RPL, bridge, CES, SFR).
