Responsibilities Lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and guiding the team through change. Support program awareness, onboard new pharmacy staff, and recognize colleagues for their success. Consistently exhibit best practices while working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful counseling, and complying with all legal and regulatory guidelines. Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthen performance measures through coaching, and maintain workflow procedures at all workstations. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and use safety guardrails at every workstation. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold‑chain products. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring completion of required training and licensure. Ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; report issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and ensure timely completion of required training. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance with direct observation, feedback, and annual reviews. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion that values the pharmacy team and encourages open feedback. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuous learning. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, hormonal contraception) where permissible. Essential Functions Regular, predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to focus and pivot quickly among tasks to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Provide friendly customer service and look for ways to help people. Use verbal and written communication effectively and practice active listening. Apply mathematical reasoning to calculate quantities for dispensing. Resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action. Lead by example, empower team members, foster collaboration, motivate performance, and apply problem‑solving skills. Adapt and take ownership in changing circumstances. Cooperate with other tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lifting, scanning, and bagging items up to 20 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Reach overhead, stretch, and maneuver with arms and legs. Type and work with fingers; use precision to adjust machines. Stoop and bend at the waist; lift between low and high positions. Perform tasks requiring close visual acuity at desktop or small parts. Express ideas and receive detailed oral instructions. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3‑5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as business needs arise. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $65.00 – $85.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
