Job DetailsJob Location: Great Lakes Division Plant 1 - Sparta, MI 49345 Cascade Die Casting Group Job Description/Expectations JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Coordinator CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Great Lakes / Supply Chain and Logistics DATE DEVELOPED: 07/2026 REPORTS TO: Production Control Manager TRAVEL: 0-5% POSITION SCOPE The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day supply chain activities to help ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials, products, and information across the organization. This role coordinates purchasing, inventory management, supplier communication, logistics support, and production requirements to help meet customer expectations and operational objectives. The Supply Chain Coordinator works closely with Production, Shipping, Quality, Finance, and suppliers to maintain inventory accuracy, support material availability, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. JOB ROLES Support purchasing, inventory control, supplier communication, and logistics coordination activities. Coordinate material availability to support production schedules and customer requirements. Maintain accurate supply chain records, reports, and ERP/MRP information. Partner cross-functionally to resolve supply chain challenges and improve process performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate the procurement of raw materials, components, supplies, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Operations and Production Control to ensure adequate material availability while minimizing excess inventory. Review material requirements and create purchase orders in accordance with established procedures. Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, shortages, quality concerns, and forecasted demand. Track supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. Expedite critical materials as needed to avoid production interruptions. Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records within ERP/MRP systems. Assist with supplier onboarding, documentation, and certification management. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Analyze inventory trends and support cycle count and physical inventory activities. Review inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes to maintain inventory accuracy. Generate reports related to purchasing activities, inventory levels, supplier performance, and supply chain metrics. Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Finance to support business needs and resolve supply chain challenges. Support cost-reduction efforts through sourcing initiatives, inventory optimization, supplier negotiations, and process improvements. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on efficiency, waste reduction, inventory control, and supplier performance. Complies with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs. Performs duties in compliance quality, safety, and manufacturing requirements. CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, and WORK EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: Education Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Work Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience in purchasing, logistics, inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related function. Certifications / Knowledge Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. PREFERRED: Education Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. Certifications APICS/ASCM certification or other supply chain-related certification. Work Experience Manufacturing environment experience. Additional Qualifications Experience with QAD or similar ERP system. Occasionally enter production, shipping, receiving, or warehouse areas to review materials, inventory, or logistics activity. Occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Maintain balance and stability while performing job duties, including the ability to bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed. Work in a manufacturing environment that may not be climate controlled and may include moderate to loud noise levels. Exposure to moving equipment and potential environmental, mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards while on the plant floor. Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and steel‑to‑ed safety shoes while on the plant floor.
