Residing on 88 acres on the east side of Evansville, Ind., our facility provides medical treatment for chronic mental illness and substance abuse disorders from our dedicated team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Active Treatment helps our patients achieve their goals directed towards living in the most non-restrictive environment possible. Our team of professionals assist our patients in the treatment process involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy and our community integration program. Evansville State Hospital continues to maintain accreditation through The Joint Commission as an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital as well as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services certification as a Psychiatric Medicare/Medicaid Hospital.Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience.A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:Authorize the accuracy of all orders received in the storeroom and authorize all goods received.Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.Maintain detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.Evaluate and recognize record-keeping or storage procedures as necessary.Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.Oversee and assembles equipment received in "knocked down" condition.May ensure the security of incarcerated individuals staff assigned to the warehouse.The job profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.What You'll Need for Success: Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.Effective communication skills.Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.Ability to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.Ability to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.A degree is not required. However, experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.
