Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Put your diesel expertise to work in the field. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic with Spiffy, you'll work independently servicing light-to-medium commercial fleets including MB Sprinters, Ford F-250 through F-650, Isuzu NPRs, and similar platform with the autonomy of a field tech and the support of a full team behind you.

Your day-to-day: preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a real variety of vehicles and clients. You'll own the communication between customers and internal teams, keeping everything compliant and on schedule.

No shop politics. Just you, a fully equipped van, and the work.

• Competitive Weekly Pay $25/hr. (30+ hours, non-flat rate)

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Perform mobile diagnostics, multi-point inspections and repairs on fleet gas/diesel engines and related components.
• Diagnose and repair various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining services performed, and recommending additional maintenance as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to analyze vehicle malfunctions and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

• Familiarity with diagnostic and repair manuals such as ProDemand.
• Proven experience as a Gas and Diesel Mechanic, with a strong understanding of light to medium to heavy duty vehicle systems and components.
• Must supply your own basic tools
• Must be patient, persistent, and possess problem-solving skills, especially when it comes to challenging repairs.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to drive; CDL preferred
• Must be 18 years or older

WHAT EXPERIENCE ISN’T REQUIRED BUT WILL HELP SET YOU A PART FROM OTHER APPLICANTS?

ASE certification(s) (shows you went above and beyond your work experience to gain more industry knowledge)

Previous diesel experience in a mobile capacity (you’ve been exposed to different servicing sites, are adaptable to your surroundings, and enjoy being on-the-go during your workday)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes.
