Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii, United States. Start date 07/13/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range: $2,316 – $2,403. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 5x8 Days. This assignment is in a hospital setting and requires the ability to work independently within an oncology/medical-surgical care environment. Pre-employment logistics include arrival the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment.

Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and injections per the provider’s orders; manage port devices (port-a-caths, PICCs, Hickman catheters) and related procedures
- Perform venipuncture; manage dressings and labs via ports, PICCs, and Hickman catheters; document care in the Epic EMR
- Monitor patient responses to intravenous therapies; maintain accurate records of treatment, medications, and responses; notify the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual events and initiate appropriate emergency actions
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications, treatments, expected responses and side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and adjustments
- Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy; adhere to proper handling, disposal of hazardous drugs, and PPE usage
- Maintain a safe environment and comply with policies and procedures; demonstrate proficiency in the Epic EMR

Requirements
- Proficiency in Epic EMR
- Ability to work in a hospital setting
- Must be able to arrive the Thursday before start to attend an employee health appointment (logistical requirement)
- Ability to perform responsibilities consistent with oncology/med-surg nursing duties
