• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $70.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Shift can be 5x8s or 4x10s depending on clinic needs. 5x8s: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; occasionally 9:00 AM-6:00 PM. 4x10s (staggered): 7:00 AM-5:30 PM (with 30-min lunch) or 8:00 AM-6:30 PM (with 30-min lunch).
• Travel Requirements: Float required. Floating between primary site (Radiation Oncology Brunswick NHMG) and two sister sites: Cancer Institute - Scotts Hill (29.1 miles / 29 minutes) and New Hanover Regional Medical Center Radiation Oncology - 16th St NHMG (10.9 miles / 22 minutes).
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This contract is for local float coverage of two different clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC , Coastal Region. The primary site has 3 Varian linacs and one CT sim. The sister site is approximately a 30-minute drive away (north end of Wilmington) and has one Varian True Beam as well as a Siemens CT simulator. Pending volumes and coverage needs, the traveler would float between these offices. The traveler will NOT be expected to cut blocks, perform CT sims alone, or perform dose calcs. There are always an MD and an RN on-site throughout the day. Additionally, there will be opportunities for the traveler to opt for 4-10-hour shifts if desired (but not required). Therapists do not work alone, so the traveler would always be paired with at least one other therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy services across two clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC coastal region, floating between locations based on volume and coverage needs.
• Operate Varian linacs and work within the Aria unit system.
• Work as part of a therapy team; always paired with at least one other therapist - never working alone.
• Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters as part of an assigned Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
• Adapt to possible mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office with pre-assignment to units as needed.

• Clinic will accept first-time travelers

• Scrubs not provided; royal blue scrubs required
• Call requirement: None
• Weekend requirement: None
• Float requirement: Yes - floating between multiple clinic sites required
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
• Consolidation to the centralized office mid-contract may occur; contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required

Important Notes

• No dimensions or orientation required for this role; traveler will start directly in the clinic.
• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Ratios: 1:5
• Locals accepted (local rate difference applies).
