Responsibilities
- Operate and drive trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 26,000 pounds
- Tow loads exceeding 10,000 pounds as required
- Securely attach tractor units to trailer hitches and ensure all connections are safe
- Maintain accurate driving and delivery logs in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance, including checking oil, fuel, and tire pressure
- Ensure all load contents are properly packed, secured, and organized for safe transport
- Follow assigned delivery and rest schedules to ensure timely and safe operations
- Maneuver and park tractor-trailers safely in various environments
- Navigate routes using GPS or other routing systems to optimize efficiency and safety
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license
- Experience operating heavy trucks and towing large loads
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in operating electric lifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
