You Will Be As the Sales Manager, you possess total ownership of the sales experience within your Saks Fifth Avenue store and play a critical role in achieving the company’s objectives. You facilitate partnerships across functions and leverage team skills to build a customer-centric sales experience, while stewarding the Saks Fifth Avenue brand. You drive sales by developing the clienteling skills and selling behaviors of a team of high-performing direct reports. You maintain high visibility on the selling floor to coach and develop the selling force, connecting with clients to build sustainable relationships through exceptional service and regular outreach. You oversee onboarding, training, ongoing education, and performance management of the selling team, fostering teamwork and collaboration to achieve the store\'s goals. What You Will Do Responsible for actively recruiting and onboarding new hires. Hire quality talent with urgency to plan for and create a talent bench Train and develop top talent by helping team members identify career development goals and opportunities for growth; set clear goals and align with department objectives Foster accountability by ensuring policies and procedures are understood and enforced Evaluate and calibrate performance, provide feedback with follow-up, and coach associates on opportunities for improvement Develop direct reports to build their personal brand as fashion authorities through proactive outreach and social media to broaden connections beyond the client base Drive continued education initiatives for direct reports (product knowledge, client events, targeted selling and clienteling) Promote a positive environment of achievement, recognition, and celebration Resolve work-related concerns and conflicts promptly and fairly Empower the team to own internal and external customer problems and resolve them quickly Oversee scheduling with sensitivity to promotional calendars and business needs Create and maintain a trusting, collaborative environment and encourage feedback for improvements Speak with candor and model how to challenge the status quo appropriately Customer Experience Exhibit Saks Fifth Avenue’s culture and values and create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere consistent with company standards Role model exceptional service and client relationship-building by delivering memorable client experiences, planning and supporting client appointments, and informing clients of in-store events Execute client development initiatives in-store and collaborate with store leadership, marketing, vendors, and merchants to identify top clients and events/experiences Build positive relationships and meet the needs of the team, customers, partners, and the community Oversee customer service efforts and escalations Use data-driven methods to identify client spend patterns, opportunities to increase wallet share, and drive repeat business Increase new client acquisition and strengthen relationships through marketing tools and channels (social media, referrals, networking) Utilize clienteling tools to deliver targeted recommendations based on shopping history and preferences Stay informed on new merchandise deliveries to maximize selling potential Business Ownership Drive toward maximum sales and growth through developing client advisors and client relationships Establish plans and manage execution, anticipating risks and maintaining operational excellence Execute in-store plans to build strong client relationships and meet development goals Analyze customer behaviors and adapt processes accordingly Support audit compliance to enforce department and stockroom controls Stay informed of business drivers, industry trends, and competitors, and pursue new opportunities Track progress against departmental strategies and adjust as needed Share best practices and new ideas to improve business and performance Demonstrate strong decision-making and critical thinking Champion change initiatives and communicate benefits and challenges What You Will Bring Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements) Relevant experience and leading a team, with supervisory experience Proven success managing a selling and operations workforce and achieving results Proficiency with technology including clienteling tools, social media (social selling), and Google Workspace; advanced proficiency preferred History of building, leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong attention to detail Physical ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift/carry up to 10 pounds Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications (nice To Haves) Luxury retail fashion experience 4-year degree preferred Continually builds skills through training and experiences Understanding of Saks Fifth Avenue business and fashion industry Adapts to diverse situations and people with creativity and resilience Maintains high personal standards for work and environment Maintains a customer-centric mentality Your Life And Career At Neiman Marcus Dynamic, fast-paced environment in a growing company Career advancement opportunities across luxury retail and related functions Comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time employees Employee discount Salary And Other Benefits The starting salary for this position is between $97,508 – 117,010 annually. This range may vary by market, experience, and qualifications. This position may be eligible for a bonus.
