About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Float

Location

Colorado Springs, CO (Zone covering Colorado Springs and surrounding areas within a 60-mile radius)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Float Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across combination ICU settings (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.) within an assigned float zone spanning a 60-mile radius
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 based on acuity, with potential to flex to 1:3; maintain 1:1 ratio for high-acuity patients including those on CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and others
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; assist with troubleshooting and managing respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Adapt to facility assignments that may be communicated 1–2 hours before shift start (Just-In-Time scheduling) or scheduled at a single facility for the week
• May be asked to float to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and Med-Surg Telemetry as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in titrating all critical care drips
• Ability and willingness to float throughout the full 60-mile zone for the duration of the contract
• Must be available in-state for the full week of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience
• Experience with Epic EMR, particularly required for first-time travelers
• Familiarity with high-acuity equipment such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella
