Intake Counselor

Description BCCS is seeking a full‑time Intake Counselor for our First Stop DUI Program. Are you eager to assist a client through their mental health and substance use recovery process in an outpatient therapeutic setting? We are seeking a DUI Intake Counselor to provide supportive, person‑centered counseling services to individuals in a compassionate way. What You’ll Do Provide a welcoming and healing environment through quality clinical services and maintaining high professional standards. Complete required evaluations and assessments. Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client’s electronic record. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Retrieve and schedule all FSD referrals from the DUI tracking system. Confer with the Clinical Supervisor daily for casing. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices. Knowledge of the population served and available resources. Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress. Ability to manage crisis intervention and emergency situations. Skill in establishing rapport with clients. Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team. Effective oral and written communication skills. Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree with CADC or a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field. One year experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental health. Within two years of hire, obtain certification as a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor). Salary From $20/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certification. Compensation Package Group medical and dental coverage with low employee costs. 34 paid days off annually.
