Counselor

Job Description BCCS is seeking a full‑time Counselor for our First Stop DUI Program. The role involves assisting clients through mental health and substance use recovery in an outpatient therapeutic setting, providing supportive, person‑centered counseling services. What You'll Do At BCCS Deliver quality and competent care to all BCCS clients, including individual, family, and group counseling. Complete all scheduled intakes and assessments and make appropriate recommendations for education or outpatient treatment. Create a treatment plan based on the client’s assessment. Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client’s electronic record. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Facilitate groups using identified curriculum. Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for caseload review. Ensure that the DUI tracking system is updated within the identified timeline with client status. Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices. Knowledge of the population being served and available resources. Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress. May require crisis intervention in emergency situations. Skill in establishing rapport with clients. Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field (required). 1 year experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental health (required). Must obtain certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) within 2 years. Schedule Monday – Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. One late shift during the week of 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Salary Starting at $21/hour.
