Accounting Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in New York City that is looking to add an Accounting Manager to its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, grant accounting, audit support, and process improvement initiatives. The position reports directly to the Controller and will play an important role in maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Oversee grant accounting, restricted funds, and revenue recognition Support annual audits and Form 990 preparation Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (ASC 958) Identify and implement process improvements across accounting operations Supervise and mentor a Junior Accountant Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience, including nonprofit accounting experience Strong background in general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting Experience with grants, donor-restricted funds, and audit support Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems CPA or CPA-track is a plus Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers #J-18808-Ljbffr
