Accounting Manager

Are you an experienced Accounting Manager ready to lead the full finance and accounting function for this New York branch? This is a great time to be joining this business with a growth plan in place to be a fully functional logistics operator! This is a hands-on finance role in a lean team environment, partnering closely with the Branch Manager and reporting into the UK finance team. The position includes responsibility for a direct report and covers financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, cash flow management, and day-to-day accounts receivable and payable oversight. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys operational accounting, ownership, and visibility in a growing logistics business. Key Responsibilities Branch P&L and balance sheet Monthly financial reporting to UK head office and local management Profitability analysis by customer and job costing review Month-end close including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Cash flow forecasting and working capital management Maintain financial controls, processes, and documentation Support external audit and year-end tax processes Payroll processing and review Daily accounts payable processing and invoice entry as required Investigate unprocessed or disputed invoices Weekly check runs and payment processing Credit card reconciliations Daily and monthly customs duty payments Vendor setup and maintenance Post daily cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts Support collections activity and customer follow-up Investigate billing discrepancies and resolve customer queries New customer account setup and approval People and Stakeholder Management Partnering with Branch Manager and operations teams Skills & Experience CPA qualified or actively pursuing CPA would be an ideal 5+ years of hands-on accounting / finance experience Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, 3PL, warehousing, or supply chain strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills essential Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven Why Join?
