Network Engineer

Overview We are seeking an experienced network engineer to maintain and enhance the hospital’s network infrastructure. The role focuses on routing, switching, and automation across a hybrid‑cloud environment. Responsibilities The engineer will: Lead troubleshooting and support for Layer 2 and Layer 3 network operations, with a focus on escalated issues. Design, configure, and maintain Cisco Nexus devices (2k, 5k, 6k, 7k, 9k) in an NxOS environment. Implement and optimize networking protocols including OSPF, BGP, LAN/WAN, spanning‑tree loops, and DNVPN. Develop automation scripts and playbooks using Python or Ansible to streamline network tasks. Collaborate on projects to expand the hybrid cloud strategy and ACI/automation initiatives. Provide on‑call support every other week and respond to incidents as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of routing and switching engineering experience (CCNP level). Hands‑on experience with Cisco Nexus (NxOS) administration. Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, LAN/WAN, and related troubleshooting. Proficiency in Python or Ansible for automation. Familiarity with Wi‑Fi 7, Palo Alto Firewalls, ISE, and NetScaler is advantageous. Self‑driven, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning. Work Arrangement On‑site 4 days a week, 1 remote day. The candidate must reside within one hour of the hospital to support on‑call duties. On‑call is required every other week. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year. Benefits include a 403(b) contribution of 8.9% of the first $69,400 and 13.2% of the remaining salary.
