Facilities Maintenance TechnicianThe Facilities Maintenance team supports the safe, reliable operation of manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments through maintenance of building systems and critical facility infrastructure. This team is responsible for ensuring equipment and utility systems operate efficiently to support business continuity, regulatory compliance, and daily site operations.The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility infrastructure and building systems. This role supports daily facility operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment issues, conducting inspections, and maintaining critical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and life safety equipment. The position works closely with senior maintenance personnel to prioritize work and ensure facility reliability.This position is based onsite at our Brooklyn Center facilityPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, life safety, and fire protection systemsOperate and maintain building equipment and utility systems that support manufacturing, laboratory, and office operationsConduct routine and scheduled inspections of facility infrastructure, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs and prevent unplanned downtimeDiagnose equipment malfunctions and complete corrective repairs using appropriate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance proceduresInterpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, layouts, and technical drawings to complete maintenance activities safely and accuratelySupport maintenance activities across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairsDocument maintenance activities and equipment status in applicable maintenance management systems and recordsCollaborate with senior maintenance technicians and facility personnel to prioritize work, resolve issues, and support continuous facility operationsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma and 4+ years of facilities maintenance experienceValid Boiler LicenseExperience performing maintenance and repair activities on facility equipment and building systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentationPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and building systemsExperience supporting wastewater treatment systems and Reverse Osmosis/Deionization (RO/DI) water systemsExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)Knowledge of fire/life safety systems, air compressors, dock door repairs, and material handling equipmentExperience performing general building repairs including painting, sheetrock, and concrete restorationPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
