Position Overview

This role involves conducting a range of imaging procedures, such as CT scans and X-rays, at a technical level that does not require constant oversight.

Essential Job Functions

• Offer technical support and patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in addressing the needs of patients throughout the facility.
• Manage and maintain all imaging department equipment, including X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
• Conduct imaging exams in line with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, ensuring the physician on duty is informed of the results.
• Execute basic clinical procedures under the guidance of the physician or nurse on duty.
• Keep all necessary documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab tests according to established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
• Ensure an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables for quality testing.
• Conduct routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks for all imaging equipment following established protocols.
• Perform Quality Control as mandated by the laboratory.
• Conduct Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as required by the facility.
• Maintain records of all analytical activities for a minimum of two years.
• Carry out all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this role and document them for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.

Other Job Functions

• Assist as an ER Technician when necessary.
• Ensure an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables for quality testing.
• Conduct routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks for all imaging equipment following established protocols.
• Travel to various facility locations as required.
• Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as necessary.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program is required.
• An Associate’s Degree in Radiology is preferred.
• Certification as a medical radiologic technologist as mandated by the state of practice is required.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography is required.
• Registration with the ARRT in computed tomography is preferred.
  • CT certification is required within 12 months of hire (specific to Pennsylvania market).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of radiologic/imaging experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of CT experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of emergency room experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer’s hardware/software, and PACS is essential.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
• Candidates from Pennsylvania: Must have completed Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) within the last 5 years, or must obtain them prior to the start date.
