Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Burlington, VT, United States
This travel assignment is in a hospital setting. Start date: 07/27/2026. Duration: 13-16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,661-$2,758 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12), day/evening pattern with typically three shift days plus one off day. Off-shift options include 08:45-19:15, 10:45-21:15, or 12:45-23:15. Assignment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment.

- Prior travel experience required; OR RN with strong orthopedics focus and Level 1 trauma experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, equipment, and supplies for orthopedic and general OR cases; scrub and circulate as assigned
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively, manage instrumentation and implants, and ensure adherence to sterile technique and patient safety
- Coordinate with anesthesia, support teams, and circulating staff; document intraoperative events in the designated electronic health record
- Assist with patient positioning, specimen labeling, counts, and room turnover between cases; monitor and address equipment needs
- Manage cosmetic and functional outcomes for diverse OR cases, including general, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, laparoscopy, trauma, thoracic, and vascular procedures (CVOR cases excluded)
- Respond to call requirements: one weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call in each four-week schedule block; participate in flexible scheduling to meet unit needs
- Ensure compliance with unit policies and infection control practices; participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience; strong emphasis in orthopedic surgery
- Prior travel experience required
- Large trauma Level 1 experience preferred
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)
- Circulate and scrub skills checklists must be included in candidate packet
- Ability to scrub all general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap cases, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases (excluding CVOR)
- BLS certification
- Flexible with rotating day/evening schedule; ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Reliable transportation required (public transit not accessible in the area)
- No float assignments requested
