System Assembly Technician (Albuquerque, NM - Full-Time) Assembly Technician Vacuum System Assembly Mechanical Skills Electrical Schematics Mechanical Drawings System Testing On-the-Job Training Ideal Vacuum Products is seeking an Assembly Technician to support our vacuum system assembly department. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. The role involves hands‑on assembly work using mechanic tools, electrical tools, hoists, presses, and other equipment used to build vacuum systems and related products. A qualified candidate should be comfortable using tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, wire strippers, electrical crimp tools, presses, and ceiling hoists. The position may also involve reading electrical schematics, interpreting mechanical drawings, assembling components, troubleshooting systems, and following clean work practices when handling vacuum chambers and equipment. Basic computer skills are required for using our electronic knowledge database and digital job resources. On‑the‑job training and mentorship are provided for entry‑level technician team members. Position Objective Our goals are to maintain a safe and friendly work environment, assemble quality products, and maximize production line productivity. Responsibilities Assembly Technicians are expected to follow verbal and written instructions, cooperate with team members, and stay focused and productive throughout the workday. Methodical work habits and attention to detail are valuable assets in this role. Maintain high work accuracy and strong attention to detail. Learn and perform standard assembly processes used in company product lines. Keep work areas clean, well organized, and productive. Support improvements to procedures and product quality when needed. Work with the manufacturing manager and assembly team to support production progress. Use clean work practices when handling vacuum chambers, vacuum components, and related equipment. Assist with troubleshooting and system testing as required. Job Tasks This position primarily involves wiring industrial electrical boxes, assembling equipment onto systems, routing plumbing, wiring electrical harnesses, and routing vacuum lines. Production work includes standard systems as well as larger custom projects. Wire stripping and electrical preparation. Use of crimp tools and electrical hand tools. Use of general hardware and fasteners. Power tool and hand tool operation. Parts pulling and staging for assembly work. System testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues. Wiring high‑voltage systems under proper instruction and safety procedures. Interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Using hoist equipment to move and manipulate heavy workpieces safely. Education & Knowledge Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of technician, mechanic, hands‑on assembly, or related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings preferred. Basic computer skills required. Experience using mechanic tools, hand tools, power tools, or electrical assembly tools preferred. Willingness to learn vacuum system assembly processes. Skills Needed Good mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem‑solving ability. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work well with team members. Ability to stay organized and productive throughout the day.
