About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred Previous travel experience preferred License: Pending state license is acceptable Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience: 1:1 Charting system experience preferred Description: The role involves working in the Operating Room. Candidates should have experience with various surgical procedures, including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic surgery. Knowledge of safety protocols and patient care during surgical procedures is essential. You will be expected to participate in on-call shifts as per a six-week schedule, which includes weeknight and weekend shifts. In this position, nurses will provide care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You will work with a daily census of approximately 35 patients in a 7-room operating facility. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The nurse will be responsible for the preparation and management of surgical instruments and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. You should demonstrate skills in some specialized procedures and equipment related to the operating room. A flexible approach to floating within similar units, as needed, is required.
