Our organization is in search of a physician leader specializing in adult Rheumatology to manage clinical operations across three locations: Salisbury, Charlotte, and Kernersville. As a distinguished Complexity 1a facility, we boast a diverse team of over 100 specialists in various fields and consistently rank among the top ten VA facilities in the nation for patient care volume.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage all facets of clinical rheumatology care.

• Lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee quality assurance initiatives.

• Maintain high standards of care, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance.

• Engage in educational, training, and research activities.

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple locations.

Qualifications:

• Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy.

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.

• Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

• Residency: Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty is required.

• Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Rheumatology.

Additional Requirement:

• The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment at a prominent medical school, with rank based on experience and academic accomplishments. Protected time will be allocated for educational and research pursuits within the clinician-educator-research track.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MD/DO with fellowship training in Rheumatology.

• ABIM board certification is preferred; board-eligible candidates will be considered.

• Possession of an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.

• Proven leadership experience in multi-site or complex healthcare environments.

• Strong dedication to education, patient outcomes, and quality enhancement.

• Training or certification in Sleep Medicine is a plus but not mandatory.

Benefits:

• Salary: Ranges from $300,000 to $400,000.

• Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular pay increases.

• Recruitment Incentive: A sign-on bonus may be available for exceptionally qualified candidates.

• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for CME).

• Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and federal TSP with up to 5% matching contributions from the VA.

• Contractual Terms: No employment contract for physicians; minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
