What you’ll achieve

In this position as Principal Engineer, Enterprise DevOps & ALM Platforms , you will define the technical strategy, architecture, and operational standards for Dell Technologies' enterprise DevOps and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) ecosystem. You will lead the modernization, reliability, security, and scalability of critical engineering platforms supporting thousands of developers worldwide. Working across Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams, you will drive platform innovation, cloud adoption, automation, and AI-powered engineering experiences. You will also serve as a senior technical leader, establishing best practices and influencing strategic technology decisions across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

You will:

• • Define and execute the architecture, reliability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategy for enterprise engineering platforms including Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, Artifactory, Kafka, SonarQube, Coverity, and qTest
  • Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices through observability, service level objectives, incident management, performance engineering, and continuous reliability improvements
  • Establish secure-by-design platform standards, identity integrations, access governance, cyber resilience programs, and compliance readiness across the engineering ecosystem
  • Drive platform engineering automation through Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD standardization, self-service capabilities, and cloud-native modernization initiatives.
  • Champion AI-powered platform operations, developer productivity improvements, and technical leadership through mentoring, architectural guidance, and cross-functional collaboration

Essential Requirements

• • 8+ years of experience in enterprise-scale DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), or related engineering disciplines
  • Deep expertise administering and architecting enterprise engineering platforms such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, Artifactory, Kafka, SonarQube, Coverity, and related developer productivity tools
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating highly available, resilient platforms with strong knowledge of disaster recovery, performance engineering, observability, and capacity planning
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD automation, cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS), Kubernetes, Linux, networking, identity management, and distributed systems
  • Strong track record leading security, compliance, access governance, cyber resilience, and platform modernization initiatives while influencing technical strategy across multiple organizations

Desirable Requirements

• • Experience with AI-driven platform operations, agentic AI solutions, engineering intelligence platforms, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or developer productivity transformation initiatives
  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, Kubernetes, security, platform engineering, or related technical domains

  Compensation

  Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $182,750 to 236,500.
