Alaska Regional Hospital is seeking a travel RN for the Operating Room (OR). This position requires an Alaska RN license. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a start date as soon as possible for a 13-week assignment. Experience in orthopedics, total joints, neuro, and robotics is needed, with approximately 15 call shifts per month. On-call is mandatory.

Unit Information:

• Location: Alaska Regional Hospital, 2801 Debarr Road, Anchorage, AK 99508
• Floor: 2nd floor, Main hospital building
• Number of Beds: 11 ORs
• Shift for this position: Three twelve-hour shifts (weekends if possible)
• Call Expectation: Averaging 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift per 8-week sign-up period
• Number of Staff: Varies depending on the day
• Type of staff: Day Shift (average of 8 RNs, 8 scrub techs, and 5 surgical support techs); Night Shift (one charge RN and one scrub tech in house with call team backup)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Type of equipment: Variety of OR beds and equipment
• EMR: Epic

Typical hiring profile:

• Skill Set: Most recruited for OR RN
• Must have: Patient advocate as circulator while being a resource for the sterile field
• Preferred or nice to have: Experience as circulator, Experience as Scrub CNOR
• List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Total Joints, Multi-level spine fusions, Variety of Xi Robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General) Very little ENT, Dental, Eyes or plastics
• Best personality fit: Positive outlook. Willing to work with team members
• Required Certifications: Alaska RN license, BLS, ACLS

Weekends and On call: Weekend position needed. If staff member works during the week, they are required to take call as stated above.
