About the Role Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas (BBBSCC) is looking for a Program Manager in Cabarrus County, NC. The Program Manager will foster partnerships with school stakeholders, maintain program fidelity, and drive positive youth outcomes. The role provides direct supervision and professional development for up to two Master’s‑level student interns and supports two indirect reports through coaching, caseload assignment, and real‑time feedback. The Program Manager holds primary responsibility for the strategic oversight, execution, and continuous improvement of the Cabarrus County program, ensuring volunteer and youth recruitment, enrollment, matching, and ongoing match support align with BBBS national standards and local objectives. This role reports to the Cabarrus County Area Director. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee Cabarrus programs and assist the Cabarrus Area Director in managing community and corporate partners. Train program staff, facilitate team meetings, and coordinate a school‑based program. Track individual and team performance using metrics and provide verbal and written feedback to improve performance and teamwork. Review client documentation for quality assurance compliance with agency and federation requirements. Consult with staff on challenging interviewing/matching issues and family situations, and assist in locating appropriate community resources. Collaborate with the Area Director to ensure orientations, training, interviews, and matches achieve annual goals. Develop effective recruitment strategies and communicate agency policies and procedures to the Cabarrus team. Facilitate teamwork within the Program Team and cross‑agency cooperation. Empower the team to support volunteers, parents, and youth, and generate innovative solutions. Provide input on team direction, goals, retention, and support contact rates. Maintain working knowledge of the Matchforce database and the BBBSA Service Delivery Model, ensuring data integrity and staff proficiency. Support the Cabarrus program and development events as needed, and participate in special projects. Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a social service or related field; training in BBBSA Standards of Practice. Experience in mentoring, positive youth development, and risk and protective factors. Minimum five years of direct service experience in social services and at least three years of supervising or training staff. Skills & Knowledge Results‑driven, goal‑oriented, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse populations. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Excellent leadership, teamwork, and facilitation skills. Strong project planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Comprehensive knowledge of community social service resources. Professional demeanor, ability to represent the agency to the community. Effective communication with management, line staff, and clients. Teaching and training skills fostering commitment and motivation. Computer literacy: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Google Suite; tech‑savvy and adaptable to new technology. Ability to monitor performance, empower growth, and avoid micromanagement. Work Environment & Physical Demands Stationary at a desk 50% of the time. Frequent movement throughout office and school sites. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, meeting insurance requirements. Hybrid office/home‑based role with travel to assigned school sites in Mecklenburg County. Availability up to two Saturdays per month and for evening events as needed. Travel Requirements Approximately 10% of work time traveling locally to program sites and schools.
