Position description The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, Department of Urology is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking faculty members with expertise in urologic oncology to join a large, collaborative, multidisciplinary program. The successful candidates will manage patient populations from a broad referral base and will provide clinical care at multiple sites, including VAHCS San Diego. Clinical responsibilities will include the diagnosis and management of genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers, utilizing open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical approaches. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or an MD/PhD in health-related fields. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Urology. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board. (required at time of start) Candidates must have completed an accredited Urologic Oncology fellowship (e.g., SUO fellowship) or equivalent advanced training in the management of genitourinary malignancies by the time of the start of the appointment. Preferred qualifications Candidates with an established or emerging record of scholarly activity in urologic oncology are preferred.
