Registered Nurse

The position requires a proficient registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients during antepartum, labor, and postpartum phases. They must assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries. The nurse will also circulate for C-sections and recover patients post-surgery. A proficiency in monitoring and treatment protocols, such as insulin drips and anticoagulation therapy, is essential. This role includes a patient care ratio of up to 2 patients per nurse. The nurse will be expected to float to like units as needed based on facility requirements. There is a weekend shift requirement of 4-6 shifts every 6 weeks. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidimensional environment. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various specialties, including respiratory services and social services. The unit typically handles a volume of 100-200 facility births per month. Travelers are welcomed to apply, with a brief orientation provided upon arrival. Applicants must possess strong communication and teamwork skills. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining patient safety and adhering to best practices in labor and delivery care.
