Job Purpose

• The Grant Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the effective development, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of National Grid’s corporate giving and grant-making programs across Social Impact & Community Engagement operations.
• Working closely with the Manager, Grants Management, the role contributes to grants management, CyberGrants administration, program management, governance, compliance, and operational processes , helping to ensure National Grid’s grant-making activities are effectively managed, appropriately documented, and aligned with organizational objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements. The Analyst will provide organized, detail-oriented support across the grant lifecycle while developing the knowledge needed to become a trusted operational resource for internal teams and nonprofit partners.
• The role also supports the development and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies, procedures, controls, workflows, reporting mechanisms, and grant-management systems . The role partners with internal stakeholders, business teams, technology partners, and external organizations to promote consistent and effective grant-making practices across the organization.
• This position will also have a dedicated storm/emergency response role.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the day-to-day administration of the grant lifecycle, including application intake, documentation review, due-diligence tracking, approvals, grant agreements, payment coordination, reporting, and closeout.
• Maintain accurate and complete records in CyberGrants and related tracking tools; perform data-quality reviews, reconcile grant, financial, and supporting records, and coordinate resolution of discrepancies.
• Assist users and nonprofit partners with questions about grant processes, system access, application requirements, documentation, payment status, and reporting expectations; escalate complex matters appropriately.
• Prepare hoc reports, dashboards, trackers, presentations, and data summaries related to grant activity, budgets, payments, compliance, and program outcomes, including materials for management and leadership updates.
• Coordinate meetings, action logs, project plans, timelines, and follow-ups for grant operations initiatives, audits, system enhancements, and process-improvement work.
• Partner with Social Impact & Community Engagement, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Technology, External Affairs, and other business teams to gather information and support effective grant administration, compliance reviews, and audit requests.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or improve processes; contribute practical recommendations based on user feedback and operational experience; and support the Manager, Grants Management.

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How

• Foundational knowledge of business operations, program administration, grants, corporate social impact, nonprofit work, finance, data management, or a related field.
• Ability to learn CyberGrants or a comparable grant-management, workflow, case-management, or customer-relationship platform.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, complete, and well-organized records.
• Ability to work with data, identify inconsistencies, summarize findings, and present information clearly.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and follow-up items.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide helpful, professional service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures, handle confidential information appropriately, and recognize when an issue requires escalation.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn from colleagues across functions and levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; experience with reporting or workflow tools is helpful.
• Interest in grants management, corporate philanthropy, community investment, process improvement, and operational excellence.
