Grocery Manager

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is expanding on Long Island, and we’re looking for a Grocery Manager to lead our bustling Center Store. If you have a passion for leadership, organization, and delivering exceptional customer experiences, this is the role for you!

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the grocery department operations and inventory with your team, coordinating product needs and expiration dates.
• Work closely with the Director of Center Store to ensure proper inventory levels, product orders and weekly sales goals
• Provide outstanding customer service to staff and shoppers, answering product questions and guiding aisle navigation.
• Interview, train and mentor new and existing Grocery Department employees.
• Collaborate with Merchandising staff to maintain eye-catching, organized displays and proper product placement.
• Handle purchasing, staff management, financial reporting, and daily operational oversight.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Grocery experience, including 2+ years as a Grocery Manager in a large retail environment.
• Excellent communication skills; must read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong attention to detail and natural leadership abilities.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent movement on hard surfaces; bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, and stooping may be required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward items may require assistance.
• Indoor environment with occasional exposure to machinery, loud equipment, temperature extremes (freezers, ovens, coolers), cleaning agents, and industrial tools.
