Overview:

Sr Java Developer

We are seeking experienced Java engineers to help optimize and scale a high-performance Consent & Preference platform, as it's deployed to a high-volume division. The platform leverages Kafka, REST APIs, MongoDB (with sharding), and batch file processing, all orchestrated on Kubernetes. This roles focus will be on maximizing throughput, minimizing latency, and strengthening monitoring and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Optimize Java-based APIs and Kafka consumers to handle large-scale consent and preference traffic.

Enhance MongoDB sharding and indexing strategies for high-throughput read/write operations.

Improve performance and reliability of batch and real-time ingestion workflows.

Fine-tune Kubernetes pods, clusters, and autoscaling policies for better resource utilization.

Implement and enhance observability, including monitoring, alerting, and logging (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).

Drive root cause analysis and performance tuning across services and infrastructure.

Collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and Architects to ensure end-to-end system health.

Required Skills

Expert-level Java with Spring Boot in scalable microservice environments.

Proven experience with Kafka, including tuning consumers, partitioning, throughput control.

Advanced MongoDB knowledge, especially with sharding, indexing, and high-volume read optimization.

Solid understanding of API performance optimization (caching, pagination, thread tuning, etc.).

Strong experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployments in production.

Hands-on with monitoring high-volume applications using industry-standard tools.
