Job Title: Packer Immediate Hire

Location: Carlstadt, NJ

The packer plays a key role on the production line by safely removing finished protective packaging products from machines, inspecting them for basic quality standards, and accurately packing them into bags and cartons. This position supports smooth production flow, helps maintain a clean and safe work area, and works closely with team members to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Remove finished protective packaging items, such as bubble cushioning and mailers, from production machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Take finished items off the machine line carefully to prevent damage and ensure product integrity.
• Place product labels accurately on items according to instructions and packing requirements.
• Pack products correctly into designated bags, cartons, and boxes, following packing specifications and counts.
• Perform basic quality checks on items to identify visible flaws or defects and report issues promptly.
• Help keep the work area safe, clean, and organized by following housekeeping and safety guidelines.
• Support team members by assisting with tasks as needed and covering breaks to maintain continuous production.
• Handle materials and product loads as part of the production and packaging process.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working on or near production lines.
• Adhere to production schedules and meet daily packing and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• Experience with packing, production, and packaging processes.
• Ability to perform material handling and loading tasks on a production line.
• Basic math skills to count items and verify quantities accurately.
• Basic English reading skills to follow work instructions, labels, and safety information.
• Ability to stand or walk for long shifts, up to 12 hours.
• Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Attention to detail to identify basic quality flaws and pack products correctly.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlstadt, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $18.15/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
