Position Summary

Sealed Air is seeking a Director of Quality, based at our Romeoville , IL manufacturing facility, to lead Quality and Food Safety across the Liquibox manufacturing network within our Food Division. This role carries strategic responsibility for quality performance across multiple sites and requires approximately 30–50% travel to support manufacturing locations, customers, and business needs. 

The Director of Quality will lead and develop Quality Managers, Quality Supervisors, and site quality teams while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, Regulatory, and Executive Leadership. This leader will establish common standards across the network, strengthen quality governance, and drive enterprise-level performance across Quality Management Systems, food safety, customer quality, and compliance.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and highly influential quality leader with strong multi-site manufacturing experience and a proven track record of building high-performing teams, standardizing quality systems, improving customer and operational performance, and leading organizational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Set Quality Strategy: Establish and execute the strategic vision, goals, and roadmap for Quality and Food Safety across the Liquibox business.
• Lead Multi-Site Quality Performance: Provide leadership, coaching, development, and performance management for Quality Managers, Quality Supervisors, and quality teams across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Standardize Quality Systems: Develop and sustain standardized Quality Management Systems, Food Safety programs, audit processes, training, and quality standards across the Liquibox network.
• Drive Operational Excellence: Partner with Operations and cross-functional leaders to improve process capability, product consistency, manufacturing controls, and overall business performance while reducing defects, waste, customer complaints, and cost of poor quality.
• Ensure Compliance & Food Safety: Maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, FDA, customer, corporate, and applicable regulatory requirements while leading customer, certification, regulatory, and corporate audits.
• Strengthen Customer Quality: Lead the investigation and resolution of significant customer complaints, quality escapes, food safety concerns, and product nonconformances while partnering with Commercial, Technical Services, and key customers to strengthen relationships and support business growth.
• Build Organizational Capability: Develop leadership talent through succession planning, mentoring, training, and performance management while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, food safety, and customer focus.
• Drive Enterprise Quality Transformation: Lead organizational change, benchmark industry best practices, and introduce innovative quality methodologies, technologies, and systems that strengthen performance across the Liquibox network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Food Science, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical field required.
• 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in manufacturing, including 5+ years leading multi-site quality organizations or large-scale quality functions.
• Proven experience implementing enterprise Quality Management Systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Food Safety Systems, regulatory compliance, auditing, and quality governance.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and executive stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
• Experience supporting customer, regulatory, certification, and corporate audits.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, problem-solving, project management, and executive communication skills.
• Experience in food-contact packaging, flexible packaging, plastics, consumer packaging, or related manufacturing industries preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred.
• ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQA, or CMQ/OE preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline preferred.
• Ability to travel approximately 30–50%.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $126,800 - $192,100

The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs.
