Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Hematology-Oncology Physician
• Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,620 - $7,840
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with shared after-hours call coverage
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Setting: Inpatient consult service, outpatient hematology oncology clinic, and infusion center
• EMR: Epic
• Coverage Type: Adult and geriatric hematology oncology

Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology Oncology or a related specialty
• Active Michigan medical license strongly preferred; candidates needing licensure will be reviewed
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of clinical experience required
• Experience managing both benign and malignant hematology cases preferred
• Comfort with shared call coverage and multidisciplinary oncology practice support
• Ability to perform FNA/biopsy procedures
• Eligible to work in a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality hematology-oncology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult and geriatric hematology oncology patients
• Participate in shared after-hours call coverage as part of the practice call pool
• Perform required procedures, including FNA/biopsy when clinically indicated
• Order and interpret tests, labs, and imaging to support patient care plans
• Prescribe appropriate treatments and medications within scope of practice
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and the broader care team to coordinate treatment
• Participate in tumor board discussions and contribute to multidisciplinary cancer care planning
• Support continuity of care for both malignant and benign hematology cases
