Immigration Paralegal

Overview Immigration Paralegal to support employment-based immigration matters for corporate clients in a collaborative law firm environment. The position can be based in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; or Louisville, KY. Key Responsibilities Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions and applications, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, PERM, I-140, and Adjustment of Status (I-485). Draft and review immigration-related documentation, such as support letters, job descriptions, and audit files. Manage case timelines and monitor status of filings with USCIS, DOL, and DOS. Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and beneficiaries to collect necessary documentation and information. Maintain case files and upload documentation to the firm’s case management system, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Track and manage deadlines, including visa expirations, RFEs, priority dates, and PERM recruitment timelines. Assist with preparing responses to RFEs, audit responses, and other government inquiries. Communicate case status updates to clients and respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly. Accurately record time worked and enter time and description into the time and billing system. Qualifications and Requirements Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree with a major in paralegal studies, or aBachelor’s degree with an unrelated major and either: a certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal training program specializing in the area; or three years’ experience in the area of specialization; or other comparable experience; or unique qualifications that fit a specific need at FBT Gibbons. Minimum of three years of experience supporting employment-based immigration matters. Strong research skills, high accuracy and attention to detail in paperwork. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with set goals and achieve them; capable of analyzing situations and solving problems; able to work under pressure and with time constraints. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational skills. Proficient MS Office skills; flexibility to work overtime as needed.
