This role protects secure systems by providing expert engineering support for the Cryptographic Solutions Program and MPO's network security products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide advanced engineering, cybersecurity analysis, and cryptographic solutions to enhance the security posture, testing, and certification of products deployed across the Intelligence Community (IC). Drive innovation in data protection, high-assurance encryption, and secure computing architecture to safeguard modern national security infrastructure. Perform software design and functional programming while authoring robust unit, integration, and system-level test suites. Develop software primarily using Python, JavaScript, and functional programming paradigms, while utilizing markup and data-interchange formats including YAML, JSON, and HTML. Build and maintain software within modern Linux and Windows operating environments using toolsets such as VS Code, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Scapy. Apply deep domain knowledge of low-level network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and cryptographic principles (e.g., PKI, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hashing) to software development tasks. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and technical complexity. Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
