Unity 3D Manufacturing Simulation Developer

Job Description

Position Summary: Conduct all work activities in a safe manner, observing all USG Corporate, governmental, site safety and environmental rules and regulations. Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement Unity 3D manufacturing simulation to meet USG business requirements. Collaborate with the Engineering Department and Plant Personnel to gather and thoroughly understand business requirements to ensure that delivered products meet the needs of the project. Ensure the best performance, quality, and responsiveness of application. Identify process and application bottlenecks and bugs. Offer and implement solutions in a timely manner. Participate in the identification of relevant best practices and facilitates their use.

Scope of Project

Create a Unity 3D simulation that closely resembles an existing manufacturing operation to a degree that it may be used to generate video input used to train a machine learning model monitoring the operation. Using an existing 3D simulation application as the starting point, create the simulation that matches the actual manufacturing operation (drawings & pictures will be provided) within 1-inch accuracy. The system will run on a Windows OS. The simulation must provide an operator interface to control conveyor speeds, lighting, camera positions, panel slip and panel feed rate. Work expected to be completed in 3 months.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience with Unity3D Developer. Excellent knowledge of Unity and proficient with Unity Physics Engine. Experience with scripting, textures, animation, and GUI styles. Proficient knowledge of Git. Computer Science, or other applicable degree, is preferable. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal as well as (verbal and written) communication skills to effectively interact within a diverse fast-paced workforce environment.
