Founding Product Designer / Healthcare / NYC

This healthcare technology startup is modernizing international medical travel, and you will be the first product design hire. As a founding Product Designer in New York, NY (onsite) , you will own the end-to-end product design function and shape how the platform feels and works from day one. This role combines product leadership, hands‑on design, and close collaboration with founders and engineering to turn complex real-world workflows into clear, user‑friendly experiences. What you’ll do Lead end-to-end design across the platform and customer experience. Design intuitive workflows that help patients navigate complex international healthcare journeys. Build the company's first formal design system and maintain it across all digital touchpoints. Partner directly with founders and engineers to define product priorities and feature roadmaps. Translate complex medical, logistical, and operational processes into simple experiences . Create wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs , and production-ready assets. Run user research and usability testing to understand customer needs, concerns, and behaviors. Iterate quickly based on customer feedback and product insights. Help establish design best practices, processes, and culture as the organization grows. Contribute to the long-term product vision and overall brand identity. What you bring 3-8 years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design and product thinking. Experience at early-stage startups , ideally as a founding, first, or early design hire. Strong end‑to‑end product design experience across user research , UX , interaction design , and visual design . Expertise designing intuitive experiences for complex workflows and multi‑step journeys . Advanced proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools. Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems . Strong understanding of user‑centered design principles and product development processes. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous startup environment.
