Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Key Responsibilities Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and help ensure timely payments and collections. Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed. Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and maintain organized financial documentation. Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and support overall business operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software or ERP systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
