Surgical Technician

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Technician (PRN) to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Job Duties: Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure. Assist with patient preparation and positioning before surgery. Maintain aseptic technique and support the surgical team during procedures. Handle and track instruments, needles, and sponges according to safety standards. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures. Restock supplies and report equipment needing repair or replacement. Assist with training new staff and supporting quality improvement activities. Position-Specific Details: The incumbent in this position will assist the nursing/medical staff by providing skilled technical assistance during major/minor diagnostic and/or surgical procedures at LSU Health- Lallie Kemp Medical Center in the Operating Room. Appointment Type: This is a PRN position, which is scheduled on an as-needed basis and does not include benefits eligibility. Work Location: This position is located in the Operating Room. Work Hours: Shift will be determined by the Department Manager. Compensation: In addition to a $25/hour rate of pay, compensation consists of Shift Differential pay as well as compensation for being part of an On-Call schedule (as required).
