Senior Staff Clinician, CCSC

Job Overview The Graduate School of Education and Human Development at George Washington University seeks a Senior Staff Clinician for the Community Counseling Services Center (CCSC). This role leads innovative mental health services, mentors graduate students, and operates within an antiracist and anti-oppressive framework. Core Responsibilities Employ and promote antiracist/anti-oppressive practice in clinic management and supervision. Be present and available for consultation during clinic hours. Provide clinical supervision to up to six master's and/or doctoral counseling interns across three semesters (including tape review, triadic supervision, note signing, file management, formative and summative feedback). Screen and schedule clients for interns, set client fees, and maintain an accurate referral list. Update the yearly training curriculum for counseling students and supervisors. Market the CCSC to prospective clients and referral sources. Identify and pursue potential funding opportunities for the clinic. Ensure compliance with clinic, department, university, and accreditation policies, including HIPAA and FERPA regulations. Maintain and manage electronic health record systems and video-recording capabilities, ensuring confidentiality of all client records. Provide crisis management oversight and monitor professional and ethical service provision. Assist with daily operations, including equipment maintenance, space safety, and supplies coordination with department administrators. Monitor payments, client sessions, attendance, and other administrative aspects of clinic management. Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related mental health discipline. Two (2) years of relevant professional experience. Licensed to practice as a professional counselor (LPC) in Washington, D.C., or must obtain licensure within six months of hire. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral-level degree in counseling or a closely related field. Experienced clinician and educator who motivates interns to deliver exceptional care. Ability to create and maintain an inclusive clinical space that encourages student growth. Strong organizational skills for day-to-day operations.
