Machinist III – CNC & Manual

Pay: $28.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Must be Flexible for OT
Position Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Machinist III to join our machine shop team. This is a skilled, hands-on position responsible for planning, setting up, programming, and operating a variety of manual and CNC lathes and mills. The ideal candidate is highly experienced, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, set up, and operate manual and CNC lathes and mills
• Program CNC lathes and mills by interpreting engineering drawings
• Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and process instructions
• Machine parts to required specifications and quality standards
• Complete first-piece inspections and first article documentation
• Monitor production throughout work orders to ensure specifications are maintained
• Maintain tooling, offsets, fixtures, jigs, cutting tools, and special devices
• Maintain adequate production tooling and supply inventories
• Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities on equipment
• Assist with the design and fabrication of fixtures and tooling
• Assist with prototype assemblies, fixtures, and tooling as needed
• Provide technical assistance and review the work of others when functioning in a Lead capacity
• Identify and communicate production schedule challenges to the supervisor
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality
• Maintain required production records, log books, and documentation
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of combined Manual and CNC machining experience required
• Experience operating standard machine shop equipment
• Ability to program CNC lathes and mills
• Experience with Haas, Mazak, and Swiss lathes preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced shop mathematics skills
• Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Strong computer and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong follow-through and organizational skills
• High school diploma/GED plus at least one year of advanced technical training

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and use of hands
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs. continuously
• Ability to see small parts and details, including regular use of magnification when needed
• Ability to hear and communicate effectively with coworkers

Work Environment

• Climate-controlled indoor machine shop
• Professional, team-oriented environment
• Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
• Some flexibility may be required depending on production needs
