Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

Assists licensed Physical Therapists in delivering rehabilitative care to patients with physical functioning disorders. Provides skilled, evidence-based interventions to support patient recovery and improve mobility under supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Support Physical Therapists by implementing treatment plans and assisting with patient care procedures.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, modalities, and utilize supportive devices as prescribed.
• Assess patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate updates to supervising Physical Therapist for treatment adjustments.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, discharge instructions, and overall treatment goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including treatment minutes, progress notes, and regulatory records.
• Participate in care team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Active state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience, with LTC or rehab background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients.
• Ability to document accurately in electronic health records and maintain compliance.
• New graduates with Level II clinical experience are considered.
