Buyer - GCG Custom Engineered Solutions - Leominster, MA

Overview GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team at our Leominster, MA Cable Assembly facility! As a Buyer with our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and purchasing the raw materials needed to support our cable assembly operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are available to meet production demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, cost control, and supplier performance. This role requires close coordination with internal teams and suppliers to manage demand signals, execute purchase orders, and maintain a steady flow of materials through the operation. Your work will directly support on‑time delivery and overall operational efficiency. This is a hybrid role based in Leominster, MA, with in‑office collaboration required to support daily operations. Location: 110 Jytek Drive, Leominster MA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm EST What You’ll Do Procurement Execution & Order Management Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with production requirements Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time Monitor open orders and proactively manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages or disruptions Material Planning & Inventory Management Review MRP outputs in Oracle to plan and maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned commodities Establish and adjust safety stock levels in alignment with production needs and business objectives Balance inventory investment with service level expectations to support efficient operations Supplier Management & Sourcing Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing and lead times Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliability and continuous improvement Participate in supplier performance reviews and support corrective actions as needed Operational & Cross-Functional Support Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules Resolve material issues including shortages, quality concerns, and supplier discrepancies Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements across the procurement function Maintain accurate data and transaction integrity within ERP and procurement systems What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred 3–5 years of experience in a purchasing, buyer, or materials planning role within a manufacturing environment Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred) Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment Effective communication and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external suppliers Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business applications Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy, follow‑through, and problem‑solving What We Offer Competitive base salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, dependent on relevant experience Comprehensive health coverage with multiple plan options (CDHP and PPO) Company‑paid life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, supplemental insurance options Generous time off including PTO, paid holidays, parental leave, and compassionate care leave Wellness and support programs (EAP, wellness incentives, telehealth) Extras including dental/vision, FSAs/HSAs with company contributions, pet insurance, legal services, and ID theft protection An employee‑centric culture that values and truly appreciates our most important asset: You!
