JOB FUNCTION: Assist the Sanitation Supervisor in all aspects of the Sanitation Department while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role supports plant operations through the cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, production areas, and facility spaces while adhering to HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and food safety guidelines. The Sanitation Assistant works both independently and collaboratively with the sanitation team to ensure sanitation duties are completed efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate sanitation equipment are essential to success in this position.

Essential functions of the job: Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

· Works as part of a team to meet the plant’s sanitation needs

· Works independently and is accountable for completing duties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead

· Follows established cleaning practices and procedures

· Seeks opportunities to assist others when work in the assigned area is light or complete

· May be required to work weekends and holidays

· Rotates to other Sanitation Department positions as needed

· Cleans equipment, utensils, barrels, and other assigned items

· Cleans facility areas, including floors, bathrooms, doors, walls, and windows

· Collects and disposes of trash and cardboard in the proper recycling receptacles and operates balers

· Operates sanitation equipment, including steam cleaners, foamers, and automatic floor scrubbers

· Operates pan and rack washer machines, including loading and unloading

· Wears personal protective equipment appropriate to assigned job functions

· Applies OSHA hazard communication standards in daily job duties
