Intern duties will expand with training and supervisor approval. Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and identifying client strengths, needs, and barriers
• Participating in the diagnosis and treatment planning process under supervision
• Providing individual and/or group counseling sessions using evidence-based, trauma-informed methods
• Creating and updating case conceptualizations and treatment plans
• Utilizing clinical tools and symptom measures to monitor treatment progress
• Documenting services in accordance with agency policy and clinical standards
• Participating in crisis response and coordination of care with other providers
• Making appropriate referrals to internal or external supports
• Collaborating with families, medical professionals, probation officers, and other community partners
• Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and ethical codes
• Participating in weekly supervision, clinical consultations, and required trainings
• Attending monthly 1:1 meetings with the Clinical Director for support and feedback

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a graduate program in counseling, social work, or related field
• Eligible for trainee status with the Ohio CSWMFT Board (proof of status required prior to seeing clients)
• Able to commit to a minimum of 3 months (6–12 months preferred)
• Willing to complete a background check and submit all documentation prior to start
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
• Committed to growth, professionalism, and ethical practice

Additional Details

• Supervision : Provided weekly by licensed clinicians/supervisors (LISW-S, LPCC-S)
• Training : Structured onboarding and ongoing professional development
• Compensation : Paid clinical time; potential to transition to paid employment in qualified roles as clinical time increases
• Schedule : Flexible, based on academic schedule, student, and site needs/availability. Schedules are consistent and predictable once set by the student and site. A combination of 2 evening (until 7pm)/weekend shifts required weekly
