FAI Documentation Support Specialist

Position Summary The Temporary FAI Documentation Support Specialist is responsible for completing and compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation packages in accordance with AS9102 requirements. This is a fast-paced, high-volume administrative role focused strictly on documentation processing. The position does not include inspection, measurement, or product acceptance authority. Training will be provided on Discus and Net-Inspect systems. Core Responsibilities
All inspection and product acceptance activities remain the responsibility of authorized Quality personnel. Location Chatsworth, CA, is a vibrant community located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. - FAI Documentation Processing
- Complete AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3.
- Transfer ballooned drawing characteristics into Form 3.
- Capture all drawing notes, dimensions, tolerances, and special process requirements.
- Transcribe inspection results provided by authorized Quality Inspectors.
- Validate revision levels across drawings, travelers, and purchase orders.
- Prepare complete, organized, audit-ready FAI packages.
- Record Compilation & Traceability
- Collect and organize:
- Material certifications
- Special process certifications
- Certificates of Conformance
- Supporting objective evidence
- Verify traceability to correct part number, lot number, and serial number.
- Identify and escalate missing or inconsistent documentation.
- Collect and organize:
- System Processing
- Upload and process FAI documentation in:
- Discus (training provided)
- Net-Inspect (training provided)
- Maintain FAI tracking logs using Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure documentation aligns with internal QMS and customer submission requirements.
- Upload and process FAI documentation in:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in:
- Microsoft Excel (required)
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Office applications
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to follow structured processes consistently.
- Aerospace or manufacturing documentation experience.
- Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements.
- Experience working with ERP or quality systems.
- High data-entry speed with accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple FAI packages simultaneously.
- Minimal rework due to documentation errors.
- On-time completion of assigned FAI packages.
- Does not perform inspections
- Does not take measurements
- Does not determine product conformity
- Does not release product
- Does not sign Certificates of Conformance
