Seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist 2 to support manufacturing operations through material planning, supply planning, forecasting, inventory management, supplier performance management, and production readiness activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing MRP-driven planning activities, working directly with suppliers, analyzing inventory and demand requirements, and supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. This role partners closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supplier Quality, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to ensure material availability and achieve production objectives.
Responsibilities
Create and deploy supply requirements to the supplier base through MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives.
Manage daily material planning and supply planning activities for assigned suppliers and commodities.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for delivery performance and issue resolution.
Monitor material coverage, inventory levels, shortages, and run-out risks.
Drive supplier On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance improvements.
Support production planning and manufacturing execution activities.
Perform reporting, forecasting, scenario planning, and data analysis to support business decisions.
Lead meetings involving material shortages, supplier constraints, planning activities, and supplier performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supplier Quality, and NPI teams.
Support new product launches and production readiness initiatives.
Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, and supply chain performance improvements.
Track and report key planning and supplier performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years of Material Planning, Supply Chain Planning, or related experience.
Minimum 2 years of Supplier Management or Account Management experience.
Experience working in MRP-driven planning environments.
Strong SAP experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
CPIM or APICS certification/training.
Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience.
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Strong understanding of MRP processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
Experience improving OTIF, inventory performance, and supplier metrics.
Bilingual candidates are a plus.
